LEDA for Linux supports the most common Linux derivations:

Currently more than 350 different Linux distributions are available. Those distributions and derivations differ in technical details such as the underlying Linux kernel and the provided gnu compiler version.

LEDA is available for and compatible with as many Linux derivations as possible. We aim for supporting those Linux distributions preferably used by our customers. Currently these are RedHat, Mandrake, SUSE, and Fedora.

We regularly port LEDA to new Linux derivations and compilers:

In addition to the different Linux derivations, new g++ compiler versions are not garantueed to be backward compatible; that usually means that Software developed using g++ has to be ported to those new compiler versions as well.

We regularly port LEDA to new platforms, and customers of a subscription package receive all updates for new compilers and derivations for free.

We cannot garantuee compatability of then-old LEDA versions with today not yet released Linux compiler versions:

Thus, if you use LEDA on a Linux platform, and you wish to work with the most recent compiler versions or you wish to be able to update your Linux derivate at any time, thereby switching to the gnu compiler provided by the new Linux version, you may run into problems when using your LEDA version.

Customers of a subscription package receive all updates for new compilers and derivations for free:

The current LEDA version supports the current Linux distributions in their standard configuration. If you are subscription customer, the port to newly released versions of your working platform is part of your subscription agreement. You will not only have access to the most recently released LEDA upgrades but also receive the ported LEDA code suited for your needs.
