An US company maintains a network of experts on all economic and scientific fields.
Each member of this group is constantly rated with respect to its suitability and relevance regarding specific problem domains.
Whenever a member of the network formulates a problem, the optimal person to contact shall be automatically determined.
This has to be done by a software system that must handle both the network maintenance and the entire dynamic rating process.
The development system of the customer is Visual Basic.

Problem domain:

Advising the optimal strategy for the software design of the underlying network.
Development of a network implementation in C++, that - over a COM architecture - provides the required data structures in order to maintain and manipulate the network.
Implementation of the dynamic rating algorithms and the COM object control calls in Visual Basic.
 

The entire project has been successfully completed.
The cooperation took place solely via internet.
All deadlines have been met.
Data Compression

A company which specializes in the development of mobile navigation systems assigned us to analyse their geographic data with respect to its compressability.
The customer maintains a software development department of its own, development environment is C++.

 

Problem domain:

Development of suitable compression strategies.
Implementation of two different compression procedures - each consisting of several phases - for testing the envisioned strategies.
Recommendation of the most suited strategy to implement the compression and decompression functionality.
Providing the sources of information required to realize the implementation.

 


Our recommended compression method significantly improved (compared to the customers solution) the compression ratio, in fact our method exceeded the customer's objective clearly.
All deadlines have been met.
Geographic Information System

A manufacturer of geographical information systems engaged us to develop a new geometric computing kernel for her main product.
The customer's development system is Borland Delphi.

Problem domain:

Development of a data format that optimally interacts with the customer's external memory format.
Specification and implementation of interfaces to other software modules.
Recommending efficient data storage strategies.
Development of calculation methods for all required geometric operations under the restriction that
- all calculations aim at absolute correctness,
- the resulting kernel enables a maximum efficiency for loading and storaging of the data at the same time
- the kernel supports maximum efficiency when transfering the data to the visualization component.
Implementation of the computing kernel in C++ and encapsulation in a COM architecture.


The customer promotes his system as the fastest GIS available on the market. We contributed substantially to the new speed.
All deadlines have been met.
Scheduling

A supplier of a car manufacturer had - among other things - to provide evidence that he's able to compute, simulate, and optimize (with respect to predefined criteria) the scheduling of the capacities of the customer's production lines.

Analysing the planning procedure in cooperation with the car manufacturer.
Elaboration of the optimization objective.
Clearing the relevant scheduling data.
Development of different methods for scheduling, simulation and optimization capacity usage of the product lines.
Development of an analysis and design model for the system to be implemented.
Implementation of a software prototype which proves the feasibility of the problem as well as the cost savings in relation to the current method.
Joint presentation of the results with our client at his customer's site.


The results of the project exceeded the expectations of the supplier as well as of the car manufacturer.
The supplier received the order in question.
